The national representatives of the national surveillance networks
In collaboration with ECDC, each EU Member States, each EU candidate countries, Norway and Liechtenstein will be invited to designate a national representative. He or she will represent his/her national or regional coordinating centre in charge of surveillance of healthcare associated infections (HAI) and antimicrobial use where these exist and/or be key experts in this area able to facilitate the set up of a national/regional network for HAI and antimicrobial surveillance and monitoring in the LTCF of their country.
The main responsibilities of the national representatives will be the organisation of the point prevalence data collection and training sessions in their country, the transmission of data to the coordinator of the surveillance team and to act as the liaison person between the project and their competent body for surveillance.
During the first HALT project we had the pleasure of working with very motivated national representatives and LTCFs from the following countries:
