Management Team

The management team is composed of members from three institutions.

The co-ordinating/surveillance team of the Scientific Institute of Public Health (Brussels, Belgium) will be responsible for the coordination of the project, the revision of the protocol and software for repeated point prevalence surveys (PPS) in long-term care facilities (LTCF) and the organization of one PPS in 2013. The team is composed of Béatrice Jans (project leader) and Katrien Latour (scientific assistant).

Scientific expert team 1 of the Agenzia Sanitaria e Sociale Regionale (Bologna, Italy) will be responsible for the validation of HAI case definitions and for the development of a protocol for field validation. Maria Luisa Moro is co-ordinator of this team and is scientifically assisted by Enrico Ricchizzi. 

Scientific expert team 2 of the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (Dublin, Ireland) will be responsible for the development of a curriculum and education material for training at national and institutional level. This team is formed by Fidelma Fitzpatrick (co-ordinator) and Tracey Dillane (scientific assistant).

This project is funded by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) where Carl Suetens is designated as project manager.
